The Hair, Stateless, The Officers

The Officers

The Officers are a five piece band, they are really a bit too heavy for my tastes but they have a good stage presence and sound very tight.

It’s not long before I’m tapping my foot along to the powerful guitar riffs, the vocals were often drowned out by the instrumentals but on the occasions that they came through Matt Southall managed to sound very good.

Stateless

Stateless are a Leeds based electronica five piece. On record they are quite mellow and chilled out; live their songs pack a bit more punch which is a bit disappointing really because the songs available through the band’s MySpace are quite beautiful.

By far the best song from their set was ‘Bloodstream’, a slow melodic song with the potential to quickly become the band’s anthem.

The Hair

Tonight The Hair are promoting the release of their latest single, a review of which you can read by clicking this link.

The band’s set is a brilliantly orchestrated indie-pop extravaganza featuring all of the band’s currently released singles and B Sides, the energy displayed by front man Sam Robson is infectious and it’s not long before the crowd is dancing and jumping around.

When I heard ‘Disco/Retro’ on CD I thought it was a damn fine song, hearing it live only confirms this, you can expect great things from The Hair in the not too distant future.
