Computer Club - Snobs
Reviewed by Dave on 15th June 2007
With Bloc Party-esque guitar riffs and occasional sounds of The Bravery, it’s easy to understand why Computer Club have managed to become huge in Japan and sell out Birmingham venues whenever they play.
This is simply cool indie pop, the kind of stuff people with trendy hair and store bought ripped jeans really love to listen to and talk about with their equally fashionable friends while sipping Bacardi Breezers in Tiger Tiger and think that it means they are “down” with the “scene”.
And you know what? I really like it. It’s catchy, fast-paced and makes me reminisce about the genius that was ‘Silent Alarm’. There is a sense of urgency behind both ‘Snobs’ and ‘Back in Your Arms’ and there is a sense that there is more to come from this band.
