Kate Nash - Foundations
Reviewed by Dave on 26th June 2007
The nineteen year old London songstress releases her second single from her upcoming album (Kate says it’s “nearly nearly” ready).
Following on from Kate’s debut single, the synth driven ‘Caroline’s a Victim’, ‘Foundations’ is an altogether gentler song about the breakdown of a relationship. Keyboard driven ‘Foundations’ is about as different from ‘Caroline’s A Victim’ as you can get, a gloriously jolly trip through the emotions you face when thinking about leaving someone.
B Side ‘Habanera’ is a disjointed little ditty about a broken heart and features some wonderful vocal moments from Kate as she sings “You could break my heart”. The stop/start rhythm is enjoyable and catchy.
Go buy this single now, Kate deserves chart success.
