The Hustle - These Days

Reviewed by Helen on 16th March 2008

Usually demos contain more than one track, but it's pretty easy to forgive The Hustle. This music is happy and friendly and feel-good, alright - and thankfully not in the horrifically inane style of "artists" like Feist and Lily Allen and Kate Nash and argh argh argh I'm having waking nightmares. It takes a lot of guts, and more importantly a lot of skill to pull that off.

The fact is that I'd quite like to hear more of this band - but not enough to actively seek out their EP (Good Intentions), which is apparently on iTunes. However, I feel I can be quite laid back about the whole thing - I'm sure I'll hear from them again. Probably whilst sitting in Shepherd's Bush Vue, halfway through one of the summer's inevitable Brit-flick rom-coms or something.
