Bloc Party - So Here We Are

Reviewed by Andreas on 7th February 2005

The guys in Bloc Party seem to be going everywhere lately, even as far as releasing one of the slowest songs on their upcoming album as a single.

So Here We Are is slow and ethereal, and might come as a shock to some people; it is utterly different from Bloc Party's previous releases. However, this is not a bad thing, as So Here We Are is quite the beautiful song, and displays the band's ability to write something other than a guitar driven, fast-paced rock number. It might not be the best song on the upcoming album, but it's a hell of a lot better than most singles released any given week.

The single doesn't get full marks though, the b-side is available on the album (which is out on Valentine's Day). Still, it's worth a listen, and worth your £2.
