The Subways - Rock and Roll Queen
Reviewed by Ben on 16th August 2005

If The Vines were younger, and perhaps a touch more on the angst-ridden side, they'd no doubt sound very much like British three-piece act The Subways. Rock and Roll Queen (from their album Young for Eternity) will to some draws comparisons to Nirvana/Silverchair with regards to it's stop/start/stop distortion melodies and lead singer's pensive screams within the song - but this is possibly closer to the grunge scene than any band as of late trying to charter those plains. A little piece of sing along anger that no doubt will be anthematic before the year is out.
